Who Loves Ya, Baby Back? Ribs – Beer Variation

To pay back my nephew for picking up a couple of bottles on Anake at Freetail Brewing Company while I was at work, I decided to make Alton Brown’s “Who Loves Ya Baby-Back?” recipe. But I didn’t have any white wine to use in the braising liquid. What to do?

Why, substitute beer, of course. I thought a saison might be a good substitute, but didn’t have one. You just can’t buy saisons here. I did have some Tripel ‘Round the World I had brewed a while back. It was a bit too sweet, but with the brown sugar, it might compliment the rub nicely. So, instead of a cup of white wine, I used a cup of Tripel ‘Round the World.

Here’s part one of the original episode, if you like Alton Brown.

And here’s part two.
